Frisco Tap House in Columbia, MD is a local restaurant serving American Bar cuisine with over 100 rotating beers on tap! Great for weekends or just a casual week night dinner!
We headed to Friscos on Saturday afternoon after HOUSE HUNTING. Yes, that’s correct we are finally on a search to find our first home together. We visited 4 locations and I think we have almost found OUR home! It’s super exciting but also scary in a “growing up, big investment type of way.”
Walking through homes takes longerrrr than expected and choosing four in a day was a project that took longer than expected. It’s OK though, we came across GREAT options and I feel confident we have found our perfect home together!
ANYWHO, viewing homes for hours left us super hungry and craving a delicious lunch (it would’ve been brunch but we didn’t know it would take that long). HA, such newbs we are.
So I am here today to bring you Frisco Tap and Brew House – they offer awesome bar food, house brewed beer, and prices that match the value!
We started with Fried Coconut Shrimp – Frisco’s serves 8 large shrimp covered in coconut and fried golden brown. The shrimp come atop a bed of French fries and have a spicy sweet mango dipping sauce accompanied.
To be frank, we weren’t crazy about the coconut shrimp… we aren’t even sure there was shrimp in the fried pieces. If you really want AWESOME coconut shrimp head to Flying Fish located in OBX or try them from SkinnyTaste. Probably one of our favorite recipes from that site! 😀
On the positive side, the coconut was delicious and the dipping sauce paired nicely but like I mentioned, we couldn’t decide if the fried shrimp really included any shrimp.
We would DEFINITELY go for the chicken nachos next time.
You live and you learn, right?
As for entrées, we ordered the BBQ Apple Glazed Habanero Wings and Tap House Chicken Sandwich.
Don’t quote me on the name of the wings… I know it’s BBQ Habanero with “apple” thrown in there but they are on special so I’m not sure of the actual name… since they’re on special, note that you may not be able to order every day. So head to Frisco’s tomorrow so you can try them before they’re gone!
8 wings smothered in a sweet yet spicy sauce served with carrots sticks and bleu cheese dressing. The wings were tender, flavorful, and super addicting!
When I heard habanero in the name I immediately thought the wings would be CRAZY spicy and that I could in no way enjoy them. WRONG.
They weren’t nearly as spicy as I thought and were actually extremely flavorful – sweet with a hint of habanero. I definitely advise getting any style of wings ($10.95) at Frisco Tap House ! They fall right off the bone and come packed with meat. Probably my favorite dish ordered!
Tap House Chicken Sandwich ($10.95) is one of Ty’s favorites! He had it a couple weeks ago and was feening to go back for more!
Tap House Chicken sandwich includes a tender chicken breast, with melted cheddar cheese, Frisco’s secret sauce, tomato and lettuce on a soft bun. A delicious bite EVERY time!
The “secret sauce” is more of a chipotle style with a little spice.
The apple and carrot slaw is great as well – you can add some on top of your sandwich or just eat it with a fork! Either way, if you’re an apple lover you’ll enjoy it. It has a sweet taste from the green apples and is somewhat acidic.
Another recommendation: Mahi Grilled Tacos ($10.95) we have had the tacos multiple times and they’re excellent! Soft tortillas filled with grilled mahi, crunchy pickled slaw, sweet mango salsa, and drizzled with your choice of either tomatillo sauce or zesty lime. These are usually my go-to but I was trying to switch it up 🙂
When looking for a casual lunch, dinner, or happy hour I would advise heading to Frisco Taphouse in Columbia.
Awesome American food at an affordable price! Frisco Taphouse is ANY beer lover’s dream as they offer house brewed beer and over 50 available draft options!
Frisco’s is super casual with a large seating area. Great location for any weekend festivities! Take a look at the menu, what will you order??
